Ports of Call
New York City
Sailing out of NYC can be tricky in the wintertime. If you live in NJ or are travelling through NJ you always run the risk during snowstorms of NJ closing all the major highways and bridges across the Hudson. How do you get across the river? The NCL dock is in NYC on the other side of the river. Suggest you book yourself into Manhattan for an extra day or two. The Hilton Garden Suites and Hilton Time Square are about 6 blocks from the dock and are in the center of Manhattan. Have a nice breakfast at your hotel and take a cab to the dock. Hotel reservations can be changed but the NCL Breakaway will sail in and out in all kinds of weather and is usually on time. You do not want to be on the wrong side of the river or flying into NYC area the same day as embarkation. If a passenger misses the embarkation and the ship sets sail it’s a plane ride to the first port of call using jammed airports. Doesn’t sound like a pretty picture, after all you have paid for the cruise of your dreams. Protect yourself.
Port Carnaveral
Sailing into Port Carnaveral will allow you to see views of the Cape Carnaveral Space Center from the ship. This port has a lot of activity which can be viewed from the decks. Disney for the day or Cape Carnaveral our great trips especially if you have children travelling with you. There are a lot of available Shore Excursions available at this port.

Nassau, Bahamas
Nassau is a very beautiful Port of Call. Most of the pictures were taken from the Haven. This provided us with a special insight into this port. You can watch the ferries shuttle people by boat to and from work, tour boats sightseeing with it’s passengers coming and going, sunrise and sunset over the island, ships entering and leaving the port. Through the years Nassau have evolved into a bussling city. Be sure to book a tour to the Atlantis for the water park, shopping, and/or casino. Paridise Island is a great place to spend the day.
