Now this is truly and adventure…. Sailing out of Budapest at night is beautiful. All the passengers are on the top deck and their cameras are out and this river cruise has begun. Your sail out begins from across Gelhert Hill (about 1652 Km) to well past Szentendre (1660 Km) a famous artist’s colony with dozens of galleries showing a range of arts and crafts. This sail is a great way to meet all your fellow passengers.
Somewhere after Szentendre and before the lock at at Dunaj the Ama Viola tied up for the rest of the night.
Note: While my husband was taking pictures, a lady who I later met took his camera away from him and put it on the table. She said “She wanted to dance,” so off they waltzed on deck under the city lights. Susan, if you are out there please contact me! This was one of the highlights of our trip, and I didn’t realize you were getting off the ship in Nurenberg.
