After you leave Bamberg, Germany you will enter the Main River. After your dinner near Volkach, Germany you will be treated to a Wine and Chocolate Tasting in the Main Lounge. Volkach is 300 Km on the Main River. A wine grower provided a tasting of his wine and chocolate along with his band for an evenings entertainment. Tasting included a Chile Truffle which was a bit spicy with a hint of chile and covered with chocolate. The second chocolate taste was Apfelstrudel Truffle with an apple and raison flavor with cinnamon truffle covered with white chocolate. Both were perfect matches to their wine.
Silvaner is the most important grape variety in Franconia and has a long history. The shape of the bottle is called “Bocksbeutel” a Silvaner wine has an aroma of ripe yellow fruits like pears and quinces and a hint of mineralics from shell limestone.
Rotling is a fruity and half-dry wine made from with blue and white grapes.
The two German Princesses served the wine and chocolates. Later the wine was sold in their very fancy bottles.
