Our Ponta Delgada, Azores Tour in 2018 was booked with Shore Trips Tours. This tour was operated by Tours for You. Our driver and guide was Jaime Lindo Futado who provided us with our hearts desires. The tour included Round Trip Transportation for 4 passengers from the cruise ship pier; English speaking guide/driver; Belvedere of Vista do Rei; Sete Cidiades Lagoons; Mosteiros Village; Lunch at Cavalo Branco; Ribeira Grande; Lagoa do Fogo; and a final stop at the Pineapple Plantation with Pineapple Liquor tasting. This was an 8 hour tour.
We were allowed to make as many picture stops as we wanted. Below you will see just how many stops we did make. The Azores weather is continually changing. This country is beautiful in any weather and it was fun to see the changes. Jaime provided us with a history of every place we visited even to the mountain top where a hotel was built because of the beautiful view. The only problem was the hotel was in the fog and the clouds over 6 months of the year and there was no view. The hotel went bankrupt, We were lucky to see the view on a very clear day.
Our lunch stop at Cavalo Branco was a treat. The meal cooked in the ground was ready and waiting for us. It was very different and very tasty. The final stop at the Pineapple Plantation was a full tour in itself which ended in the tasting room and a gift shop. This gift shop was where I bought most of my gifts for this trips.
