During our previous trips to Barboursville Vineyards we fell in love and could not resist going back for another visit. I can’t beleive I’m in Virginia Wine Country and not in Napa Valley, Ca. Barboursville Vineyards is that good for wines, tasting rooms, restaurant, and Inn. Please look at Virginia Wine Country Archives in May 2017 for Barboursville Vineyards, 1804 Inn, and the Library 1821 and Palladio Restaurant for additional information. This trip did not disappoint and I highly reccommend the Barboursville Vineyards, the 1804 Inn, the Library 1821 Tasting Room and Palladio Restaurant. This spot makes for a great 2 or 3 day mini vacation. This is very easy to reach from the NYC area with a days drive through some beautiful country or fly into Charlotte Airport and rent a car.

The Tuscan Tasting Room has tastings for $7.00 and is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Library 1821 Tasting Room
The Library 1821 Tasting Room is open Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and Sunday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Enjoy tasting of Octagon, Paxxito and older Reserve vintages. Of course you can purchase bottles during the tasting for home or to drink then and there. Homemade house breads, charcuterie and cheese platters are available. Comfortable seating is available both inside and outside the Library. In Winter find a place by the fire place. Relax and Enjoy!
Palladio Restaurant
Palladio Restaurant is country dining complimenting Virginia and Northern Italian. Telephone number is 540-832-7848. Advance reservations are required. Restaurant is open for lunch Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Dinner is served Friday and Saturday from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. Jackets are suggested for gentlemen but not required. This restaurant is fine dining at it’s best!
