Sydney, Nova Scotia

When I was a teenager over 50 years ago, my family hauled a camp trailer for two weeks so we could see Nova Scotia.  Before we could see it all, we ran out of vacation time and had to head back home.  I never got to see Cape Brenton, National Park which was on my bucket list.    I finally had my chance when the Disney Magic Transatlantic sailed into Sydney.  So I hired a private car with www. Shoretrips.com and finally got to see it.  We chose the Famous and Fabulous Cabot Trail Ride for our excursion.  I can’t say enough wonderful things about Shore Trips.  The driver was perfect in every way and showed me exactly what I asked for.  Shore Trips was worth every penny.

Our private car picked us up for the 7 hour tour, next to the Fiddle, on the Sydney Dock.  The driver took us to Bras d’ Or, Kelly’s Mountain, St. Anne’s Bay, the Englishtown Ferry (which was a blast and cut an hour off the trip).  Later we went to the Keltic Lodge, located in Cape Breton, National Park.   Along the way, we stopped for coffee and a small gift shop.  There are some pictures of the Keltic Lodge which looks like a perfect place to stay should you decide to spend a week exploring the Cabot Trail.  Our driver took us to some out the way roads to view the wildlife, and then took us into Sydney, for a tour of the town.

The town of Sydney has a wonderful Port of Call building.  They have live entertainment, restaurants, bars, free WI FI, and lots of shops……. You can shop til you drop.  This was truly an unspoiled Port of Call.
