DCL DISNEY CRUISE LINE MAGIC MAIN DINING ROOMS

Disney Cruise Line developed a new style of dining which is so much fun.  You are assigned a table along with servers on a rotating dining schedule between three different dining rooms.  If your first night is in Animator’s Palate, then you second night is in Lumiere’s, and your third night is in Carioca’s.  Your fourth night will be back to Animator’s Palate and the rotation continues.  Your table number will remain the same in each restaurant and your server’s will be the same every night of your cruise.  All diners regardless of which restaurant they are in receive the same menu selections for that night.  The Disney staff is very knowlegeable in entertaining all children during dining hours.  They provide lots of help in menu selection, accomodating special food requests, singing and dancing, and doing magic tricks to occupy their smallest guests.  Each dining room is designed with different Disney themes.  After the meals are served there is usually a show in the dining room.

Your rotation dining room information is on your keycard.  A for Animator’s Palate, L for Lumiere’s, and C for Carioca’s.  Your dining room serving time and dining table number will be on your keycard as well.  As you enter the right restaurant just show your keycard and you will be escorted to your table.

During your cruise you will be notified of which morning is your Character Breakfast.  This will be held in one of the rotating dining rooms.  Your servers will let you know where and when.  Get ready for a fun time with Mickey and the Gang at breakfast.

Animator’s Palate (Rotating Restaurant)

Animator’s Palate was refurbished a few years ago.  During the early years the palates were in black and white only.  After the refurbishment color was added.  As you enter the dining room you will see blank palates on the wall.  Two or three are visible from every table.  Children are positioned so they can see every bit of the action.  As the serving staff is taking food and drink orders the palates start to come to life with cartoon drawings.  As the food is being served the cartoons are active and always changing.  Just about desert and coffee time the floor show starts with the servers singing and dancing and Mickey Mouse and sometime Minnie show up for the party.  Sometimes the children form a long conga line and parade around following Mickey and Minnie.  Every night the children are offered chocolate Mickey Mouse Ears or Sundaes.  If an adult plays their cards right they too can have a Mickey Mouse Ear!  Now about the adults at dinner….  There are fine wine and cocktail choices offered along with delicious food.  Plenty of time for conversation as you will find the children in the room and at your table are well behaved.  You will also find your servers are very entertaining and are a fun group to be with.

Lumiere’s (Rotating Restaurant)

Lumiere’s is a grand dining room off the Atrium of the ship.  Besides an elegant dining room their is a ball room dance floor where Beauty and the Beast will dance after dinner.  The lights will be turned to a soft glow and the candelabra’s around the room will be lit.  The dance will be magical…

It is a wonderful event if you happen to be in Lumiere’s on Formal Night.  Everyone is dressed to the 9’s including the service staff.  The menu is all elegant French food.  The fine china is set and you are in for a treat.

Carioca’s (RotatingRestaurant)

Carioca’s orignally was called Parrot Cay.  When the Magic went in for refurbishing it was redesigned and renamed.  Some of the pictures are from the original Parrot Cay and others are from the new Carioca’s which was inspired by “The Three Caballeros” and has a South American design.
