There is some mighty fine entertainment on the NCL BLISS. You can see Jersey Boys, Havana Nights, Happy Hour and listen to Beatles music in the Cavern.
Jersey Boys
Jersey Boys was a complete sell out on our entire 12 night Inagural Cruise. The Haven had a reserved seating section so we were able to catch the performance three times. Yes, we loved it. I recommend that you reserve a time for the show as soon as possible. Try to book before you get on the ship. The first night they opened the doors at 7:30 PM for an 8:00 PM show and the line wrapped through to almost the casino. Key cards are checked very carefully before entry is gained. Due to the crowds they started opening at 7:15 PM. Haven reserved seating was held until 7:50 PM. The Bliss even added on matinees and second late shows. This show is fantastic! Do not miss it! I’m still not sure how the entertainers were able to preform one show after another during our crossing.
Havana Nights
Havana Nights was a second stage show in the main theater. This show reflected the culture, music, and colors of Old Havana with it’s hot sizzling nights. Again book this show early.
Happy Hour the Musical
Happy Hour the Musical is held in the Social Comedy and Night Club and the area holds a small amount of people. This needs to be booked ahead. You know you are in Prohibition times when they hand you a drink “Moscow Mule” as they seat you at your table. In fact duiring the hour show you will receive an “Old Fashion”, “Hip Mint Julep”, “Whiskey Sour”, and a “Sea Captian”. It won’t take long for you to be tapping your feet after entering Miss Lulu’s New Orleans Storyville Speakeasy “Mahogany Hall”. Meet the Bootleggers, Miss Lulu’s Girls and sing to Prohibition show tunes. When the hour is up you will not want to leave but you must. You must try to walk out the door, afterall 5 drinks in one hour, will have you swaying along with the ship.
The Cavern Club
The Cavern Club was set up nightly to preform sets of Beatles Music and this was a big hit with the ship’s passengers. The room is too small for the number of passengers who wanted to enjoy the music. They had some table but most space was standing room only. The music could be heard in the hallway but it is not the same. This was so crowded that on the last day out to sea the group did a performance in the Bliss Theater. The idea of the Cavern was a great one but the space is far too small. I’m sorry I missed it!
Other Entertainment
You will find live music all over the ship. Check your Freestyle Daily for music locations and times. You will find Latin music, a Country Band, a Rock Band, Piano music and with a Vocalists. You will also find Port Lectures and Presentations, Painting Classes, Karaoke, Game Shows, Bingo, Art Auctions, Trivia, Dance Classes, Movies, Fruit Carving Demonstrations, Cooking Classes, and Charades.
