Pool Area of the Haven Courtyard
The Pool Area is located on Deck 17 and is between the Haven Lounge and the Haven Observation Deck Of course the staff is alway available to provide drinks, food and snacks. The pool is divided into two areas with chairs in the wet area, a deeper area with a ladder down into the pool, surrounded by teakwood sitting bench, comfortable sitting and lounge chairs abound around the area. At the end of the pool is a waterfall, an open/closed roof surround the area. An open or closed roof depends on the outside weather and temperature. Their is plenty of lighting both day and night in the pool area. Put on your comfortable clothes (bathing suit ?) and find a seat where you can relax and enjoy a drink, snack, read a book and take a dip in the pool when the mood strikes. Oh, there is a hot tub waiting for you in this area.
Upper Deck Area of the Haven Courtyard
The Upper Deck Area of the Haven Courtyard is on Deck 19. This area too is under the enclosed roof. You may reach this area by elevator or inside staircase between Haven Pool Area and the Haven Observation Deck. Here too are plenty of tables, chairs, and lounge chairs. A little sunlight filters through if the roof is closed or may have some sun if the roof is open. There is always a friendly staff member available for drinks, snacks, more towels, maybe a plush soft blanket. The side entrance will take you out on to the sun deck. Note: Those plush blankets and extra towel are located in the brown wood cabinets on the Upper Deck Area of the Haven Courtyard just before you go through the doors to the sun deck.
Sun Deck Area of the Haven Courtyard
The Sun Deck Area of the Haven Courtyard has to be my favorite area of the Haven. Enter though the doors on Deck 19 and you have arrived. This area now extends across the front of the ship and is expanded onto the other side of the ship as well. There are two hot tubs, an outside shower, clam couches, a shaded percola with double lounge chairs on the inside wall, single and double lounge chairs under the umbrellas or open to the sun, and a stool watch area at the front of the ship providing a place to get a 180 degree ocean view or rest your camera on to take that perfect picture. This is also a great place to watch for whales! A smoking station is provided behind plexy glass with chairs and tables. The second hand smoke doesn’t appear to travel across the deck and is contained within this smoking area.
The two hot tubs are first welcome addition to the Haven Sun Deck. The water is hot especially if the temperatures are cooler outside. Once in you will not want to get out! When you do put your bathrobe on and head to your cabin to take a hot shower and get dressed if is cooler outside. Of course should you have the nice warm sun then grab a chair and dry in the sun.
The second addition is a warm soft fleece blanket to wrap up in. On cooler days that blanket is a god-send.
The view from the Haven Sun Deck has to be the best! If your in port or out to sea this view allows you to see everything.
Of course the Haven staff will help you to set up your chairs, get more towels, get a blanket, put up an umbrella, and bring you a drink, snack, or light bite.
