Saybrook Point Inn, Marina and Spa

As you pass though the main street of Old Saybrook with it’s quaint shops, you will drive though a residential district, at the end of this road is Saybrook Point Inn, Marina, and Spa where the Connecticut River and the Long Island Sound meet.   This is a delight to the eye but is a welcome sight in winter, spring, summer or fall.  This is a great choice for between Christmas and New Years but any time of year is perfect.

Entrance and Lobby

There is Valet Parking and 15 minute parking outside the main entrance.  Walk under the awning and enter into a by gone time.  At Christmas time you’ll be able to enjoy their decorations and gingerbread house.  The lobby parlor has a fire place which is maintained all day with comfortable chairs for reading and relaxing.  If your room should not be ready just sit down and relax by the fire.

Accomodations

There are multiple styles of rooms, guest houses and Villas available to choose from.   In the warmer weather they even have a lighthouse suite which would be perfect for honeymooners.  Some of the rooms have a view of the river with the bed facing windows to let the sunrise over the river and the sunlight flood into the room.  Many rooms have wood burning fireplaces.  If your a romantic try room 346 in the inn.  The bathroom is all marble, with a tub and separate shower.  The bed is built into an alcove with a view of the fireplace.  In front of the fireplace is a two seater love seat with a coffee table.  There is plenty of closet and draw space in this room.  Take a look and I think you will agree.

Meeting and Event Rooms

The Meeting and Events Rooms are used to help celebrate the holidays.  The offer a Thanksgiving Dinner Buffet, a Christmas Eve Brunch,  a Christmas Day dinner buffet and a New Years Eve Gala in the Grand Ballroom.  There is a New Year’s Day Hangover Brunch Buffet available as well.  I’m sure through out the year these same rooms are used for weddings, meetings, and other special events.  They all look so inviting.

Pool Areas and Health Club

There is an indoor and outdoor heated swimming pool.  Hours are from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM daily.   There are all different kinds of seating around the pool decks.  There is a wet bathroom with a shower, an outside shower, a dry changing area, and a hot tub.  Yes, it is hot and very relaxing.  The inside pool is nice and warm with a door to the outside which a few brave souls enter to swim in the outside heated pool.  All you have to do is get in and out of the pool to enjoy the experience.  In back years when it was around 30 degrees outside I ventured into the outside pool and it was warm and fun.  This year with the salt water in the marina freezing and temperatures around  zero degrees I passed.  Just call me chicken!
